Android App Testing on Devices Your Users Actually Own

Real people, physical Android hardware, and written feedback — because the bugs that reach your reviews are rarely the ones an emulator finds.

Why Real Devices

Emulators Tell You the Code Runs. They Don't Tell You It Works.

An emulator runs your build on ideal hardware with a clean OS, full battery, perfect network and no other apps competing for memory. Real phones are none of those things. They have aggressive battery managers that kill background work, manufacturer skins that restyle system dialogs, two years of other apps installed, and mobile data that drops out mid-request.

That gap is where most one-star reviews come from. A sign-up flow that works perfectly in Android Studio can stall on a budget device because a permission prompt renders differently, or because the OTP SMS arrives ninety seconds late on a congested network.

Our testing puts your app in the hands of people using ordinary Android phones the way your users will: installed alongside everything else, over real connections, across repeat sessions rather than one scripted pass. What comes back is written in plain language — what broke, on which device, and what they were trying to do at the time.

Coverage

What Gets Tested

Every round covers the same ground, scaled to the package you choose.

Install and first run

Fresh installs, permission prompts, onboarding, and the first-session experience that decides whether someone stays.

Account and sign-in flows

Registration, email or Google sign-in, password reset and OTP delivery — completed on real accounts, not stubs.

Device and OS spread

Multiple manufacturers and Android versions from 10 upward, across small, large, budget and current-generation handsets.

Real network conditions

Wi-Fi, mobile data, and the flaky in-between where timeouts and retry logic actually get exercised.

Repeat-session stability

Days of returning use, which surfaces state, sync, notification and battery problems a single pass never reaches.

Usability observations

Where testers hesitated, misread a label, or gave up — first-impression signal you cannot get from a crash log.

Who It's For

This Suits You If…

  • You are approaching a release and want real-world coverage before your users provide it for free.
  • Your app depends on sign-up, login or verification flows that are hard to test properly on your own device.
  • You have had crash reports or reviews you cannot reproduce on the hardware you own.
  • You are a solo developer or small team without access to a device lab.
  • You also need to satisfy a Google Play closed-testing requirement and would rather one round did both jobs.
Deliverables

What You Receive

  1. 1 Testing schedule Confirmed start date, tester count and the period your app will be under test.
  2. 2 Daily activity Testers install and use the app across the agreed window rather than in a single sitting.
  3. 3 Written feedback reports Plain-language reports describing what happened, on which device, and how to reproduce it.
  4. 4 A closing summary The round's themes in one place, so you know what to fix first.

Feedback report volume depends on your package — see what each tier includes.

FAQ

Android Testing Questions

Closed testing is a Google Play release track where a limited, invited group of testers installs and uses your app before it goes public. For many newer personal developer accounts, Google requires a closed test with a minimum number of testers over a continuous period before you can apply for production access. It is Google's way of confirming that a real app has been genuinely tested by real people.

The requirement depends on your Play Console account and the policies in effect when you created it. Many personal accounts are asked to run a closed test with at least 12 testers opted in for 14 consecutive days, but Google has adjusted this requirement over time. Always confirm the exact number shown in your own Play Console dashboard — our Standard and Premium packages both provide 12 or more testers to cover the common requirement with a safety margin.

Yes. Our Standard and Premium packages cover apps with custom sign-up flows and user accounts. Testers register real accounts inside your app and use it as a normal user would.

Yes. Apps that use Google Sign-In are supported in every package, including Basic. Testers sign in with real Google accounts on their own devices.

Choose Premium. It covers apps that need full profile creation — onboarding questionnaires, profile photos, preference setup and similar multi-step flows. Testers complete the full setup so your app is tested the way real users experience it.

All testing happens on real physical devices running Android 10 or newer, across a mix of manufacturers and screen sizes. We do not use emulators.
